Experience
I have been a tutor for many years and have experience teaching a wide range of subjects that include elementary through high school mathematics, grammar, literature, reading, and writing. I also teach phonics, study skills, and help students with essay editing. I've been a middle school volleyball coach for over ten years and find it great for building character and developing teamwork skills. I find it rewarding when my students understand concepts that were difficult previously and maybe even laugh a little along the way. I like to make learning a fun experience and work with each student individually to initially gauge strengths and weaknesses before proceeding. I believe that makes a huge difference in learning outcomes. I also teach music and piano and enjoy dancing and playing volleyball in my free time. I attended Monmouth College as an undergraduate and earned my graduate degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
